Well, I finished the Irish Hiking Scarf. I’ll post all the photo-ey and other-y info when it’s a) dry b) sent and 7) received.
It’s blocked and drying right now. Has anyone ever used Kookaburra Wool Wash? This is the second time I’ve used it and it’s kind of amazing. Amazing in the way that it makes the skin peel right off my hands.
It’s got tea tree oil and lanolin in it. So I know it’s the tea tree oil that is making my hands look like I stole them off an old man. I like the smell though. So I guess it’ll be gloves for using this stuff from now on.
Since I can’t show you the scarf photos I’ve got a little yarn to show off.
This is the yarn that I bought most recently. Because, um, I needed more?
Lorna’s Laces worsted and Rowan Cashsoft DK. Lorna’s for some dog sweaters (oh stop you know they’re cute) and the cashsoft dk for a cabled scarf for the BF. I love him enough for a sweater, but he’s getting a scarf to preserve the tiny shard of my sanity.
Next? Shiny pretty things.
Handmaiden seasilk. Yum. I can’t remember the colorways off hand, but I think they’re Straw, Mermaid, and Ocean. They’re for lace something or others. Haven’t decided yet.
Soft lace-y things:
The skein on top is Jade Sapphire 2ply mongolian cashmere in the old roses colorway. Then there’s the lacey lamb. Over 825 yards on each ball of 100% lambswool. It feels like cashmere it so freaking soft. Cobweb weight. On the cones is Habu Textiles merino (on the right) and silk stainless steel (on the left). I have two of these kits in the same colors because Habu screwed up and sent me another grey instead of green. I’ll get another one in green.
But hey- why not give this one away?
So here’s the deal… there are lots of people who read my site from all over. (I read my stats people) so de-lurk and say hi in my comments, and be entered to win Habu Textiles Kusha Kusha scarf kit. I pick by random number generator on November 12. (that’s a week from tomorrow.)
And now to leave you with some cuteness…
Here is one of the puppies our friend’s dog had in early October. We’re going next weekend to see them again, and I’m sure they’ll be even more fat and sassy and soft and cute:
And this is Sophie. She’s a regular guest on my home and stays with me when her human goes out of town. She likes to sit with me when I’m knitting.
I love that she sleeps with her tongue out. She’s getting a sweater from the red Lorna’s Laces.
Ok, that’s all for now. I’m late to go to a party.
Now go comment for the contest!
Wonderful wonderful yarns! I got some Sea Silk in the Woodland colorway (browns and teals) and some beads to go with it, thinking it will become a beaded Diamond Fantasy shawl. And the dogs are just adorable!
Okay, I’m officially entering myself in the contest because: 1) I want some high falutin’ yarn to work with instead of the stuff I get from The Evil Empire and 2) Nov 11th is my birthday.
Did I win? DidIdidIdidI?
Hello!!!
Ok, that was for the entry.
Hi, I came to your blog at La’s request because she thought there should be some competition rather than her winning just by dumb luck. Enjoyed myself while I was here…I’ll be back.
