Wait just a damn minute. Allergic to alpaca? They are hypoallergenic. Are you sure you just didn't have some super sheddy yarn and the fibers were going up your nose? Or did you get a rash?

ADs should be forbidden by law to ever, ever ,ever ask when anything will be done, ready or otherwise impose deadlines or the feeling of rushedness unless there is a deal memo, a walkie in their hand and a payroll company involved. Even then it doesn't win them friends. Train him right!

I tried to take a picture of a vietnamese restaurant I passed the other day called What the Pho? But Chewy Balls is even better.

So many lookits! The blueberries cracked me up (well, the part about having to be orderly). And I really like Rosie's fake zombie eyes above her real ones. SIL's blue blanket yarn looks like candy to me; the picture of Hank in it is about what I'd be doing.

If the package is in Canada, the wait has just begun! When I ordered that STR yarn from Lettuce Knit, it took 13 days to get here from Toronto. Mind you, that was during December, with all the Chrimmas going on and whatnot, but they sent it by express mail. I can drive to TO in 5 hours. I'm not kidding. I could have walked over to the store, picked up the yarn, and walked back in the time it took Canada Post to get that yarn to me. I'll just work on the fish mittens and toe socks, and hopefully they'll be done in time for the cashmere to get here. :)

I wasn't done, but it's all good because I was getting too big for one comment.

Cats without mouths can't spit. Without cat spit, there's no dander. Without dander, no cat allergies. Hm!

Chewy Balls is an awesome restaurant. I would love to eat there, but I don't really like Asian food. They do have free WiFi, though.

And it just dawned on me: what knitter wouldn't love a dog named Hank? Cute!

Damn, those are some gorgeous pictures. Lucky gal you.

The dog cuteness is overwhelming. AWWWWWWW.
Heh, thanks for the yarn store story. Mmmm, hot little number named Jade. But you are FREAKING ME OUT right now, as I just got some of the Jade Sapphire... 2 ply... in Lupine. OK, it's the cashmere-silk. But, um, the coincidence is bizarre.
Whatcha gonna make?

I will have to agree -- what a great post! Adorable dogs, pretty yarn, nice pictures all around, a hilarious story about you poor dad (I laughed out loud, but it made me a little sad, too), and Chewy Balls. Pretty sure we don't have Chewy Balls here in San Antonio, though....

Some day I TOO will have a grown-up camera. Until then, I'll just sit here and seethe with envy and gawk at the beautiful pictures you take.

The pups are adorable!

Looking forward to Sunday

If a 10 day break from blogging will always result in a mega-post with purty pictures, you have permission to take breaks as needed - just don't leave us for good! Your new camera looks so professional and complicated that I will probably have nightmares about it, but I'm glad it makes you so happy. LMAO re: bothersome men interrupting yarn store orgy - mine knows better but took YEARS to train! :)

Hank the Adorable (whose full name is Sir Lucky Hopalong Hank the Cowdog Extraodinaire), who is sitting on my right shoulder as I type this post, has earned his nickname (i.e. TLS = The Little Shit) this week. Remember that lovely box of yarn that Wendy gave me, the box that Hank was so fascinated with? Well the cutest husband and I came home from grocery shopping the other day and discovered my lovely yarn stringing (is that a word?) across the living room floor. Now why was that there? and hmmm, where did it lead? to the backyard. Hank had carried the ball of yarn out the dog door to the backyard. And how helpful! he even chewed the string in two. In several places.

Anybody want a dog?

Oh, dear. Somewhere around here, I have a picture of Packet helping me (air quotes) with my knitting. Back when she was just a wee kitten. The picture I took was without flash, so she's really just a gray streak in a spiderweb of green yarn around the legs of the coffee table.
