Fiddle while Rome burns

It’s official. The writers are going on strike as of 12.01am Monday morning.

What does it mean? Well, for this weekend it means that we’re going to gamble with the change that I found in the couch. And my show will keep shooting until we don’t have material left to shoot. For the producer of the show that could mean that we could shoot until April since the have so much material submitted over the years that didn’t make the cut, however Fox has put the kibosh on that plan. They would at least like some quality, apparently.

I know. I said Fox would like some quality.

Anyway, send good vibes to me to win big in Vegas, and to the people whose negotiations have turned this town on it’s head.

Yep. Husband’s show runs out in three scripts instead of seven and everything I’ve read online predicts a long one, through the Oscars, which is then really only a few weeks away from the expiration of the DGA & SAG contracts. Looks like it’s gonna be another one of *those* years. Here’s hoping you’re hearing the word JACKPOT!

LMAO @ Fox and quality in the same sentence.
I hope things settle down soon for you.

Dammit. You know, those people out of work aren’t the only ones that suffer. What about the viewers? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THOSE 16 EXTRA HOURS A DAY??

I wish network executives would all choke and die, because much like record company executives, they’re greedy, greedy bastards. The talent should be making the money - not the dumbasses that greenlight shit like that caveman show. Jesus.

For someone who has no involvement in entertainment whatsoever, this has me really worked up. I don’t know if that’s good or incredibly sad.

I hope the best for you, I’m hoping that my boyfriend won’t be affected by it as well, so far so good for him. I’m also trying to get in at his job so I hope it doesn’t affect my chances either.

Grr to those money grubbers (the producers, not the writers)

Hey Wendy - thanks so much for the fantastic dishrag - it is so pretty I won’t use it on dishes - maybe for holding up a vase of perfect flowers, or some such. And all the great yarn & treats - you are the best. I hope all goes well for you with this strike, and you have some fun with your work with less stress. Good holidays, and good wishes to you - Lisa @ teamXDR4Ever or until we run out of yarn :o)
