From the “funny things the boy has said” file:

On completion, wrapping, and mailing of most of the Christmas knitting yesterday:

“Baby, I am so proud of you. You worked so hard and made such beautiful things for presents this year.”

*sniff* “I know. I’ve knitted my fingers down to nubs” *holds up hands with fingers down and palms facing the boy to dramatically illustrate the point*

“Awwww. It’s so sad. After Christmas we had to call her ‘Stumpy’…”

“Seriously! What else says Christmas like stumpy nubs for fingers?”

“Um? Toothless Carnies?”

Happy Christmas to everyone who reads here and celebrates the holiday. Thank you all this year for reading, commenting, making fun, and more importantly, becoming friends. May you all have an incredibly good holiday and may your 2008 be filled with happiness, prosperity, joy, and yarn. A lot of yarn.

The Christmas letter

My mother called to ask me to proofread the family Christmas letter.  I told her to send it to me so I could “funny it up” as her letters tend to be a bit dry…

After I opened the letter I am not so sure I needed to do anything to make it funnier.  I am still trying to dry my eyes after laughing so hard.  And while I won’t share the letter here I’ll leave you with the conversation I just had with my mom:

Mom: Yes?  What did you think?

Me: Well. Um.  The grammar and spelling are good Mom.  Though I am not really sure that you should use the term “colostomy bag” in the second sentence of the letter…
